Two soldiers embraced martyrdom and as many terrorists were killed in a gun battle in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday, the military said.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the fire exchange took place between security forces and terrorists, in which army troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, resulting in the successful neutralisation of two terrorists, Aftab alias Malang and Masood Shah.

Both of these individuals were actively involved in various terrorist activities against security forces and were implicated in the targeted killings of innocent civilians. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from them.

The brave soldiers involved in the operation, Sepoy Muhammad Afzal (29 years old, resident of district Bhimber, Azad Kashmir) and Sepoy Ibrar Hussain (27 years old, resident of district Mansehra), fought gallantly but tragically embraced Shahadat during the intense exchange of fire, the ISPR said.

The military’s media wing said sanitisation of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area.
“Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” it maintained.
