The Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Peshawar has announced the sighting of the Zilhaj moon, although the final confirmation will come from the Central Committee's chairman, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad. Meanwhile, the Lahore Zonal Committee reported no moon sighting evidence. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee's meeting is currently underway in Karachi, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad. Representatives from SUPARCO and Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz are also in attendance, alongside committee members. In Lahore, the Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is convening at the Auqaf Building, while zonal committee officials are meeting in designated locations across Peshawar, Islamabad, and other areas. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a 74-minute gap between sunset and moonrise in Lahore, making the crescent clearly visible under clear skies. The Assistant Chief Meteorologist stated that the moon would remain on the horizon for 77 minutes after sunset, but cloud cover would likely obscure visibility. As per tradition, the Zonal Committees will report any moon sighting testimonies to the Central Committee, after which the Chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will make an official announcement regarding the moon sighting.
