The Culture and Tourism Authority (CTA) of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and UNDP Pakistan have joined forces to launch the third phase of the eco-tourism and camping village project in five locations across the province.
With a budget of Rs300 million, the initiative aims to offer tourists adventure tourism and an opportunity to experience the natural beauty of Pakistan while also boosting livelihood opportunities for local youth. Promoting eco-tourism also promotes responsible travel to natural areas, while preserving and respecting the local environment and heritage.
Building on the success of the first two phases of the project since 2017, where six camping sites were established across K-P, the third phase will see an additional four sites completed by June 2023.
Each site features 10 modern, state-of-the-art camping pods with attached washrooms and common kitchen facilities that can accommodate 26 tourists.
