Parents on Monday demanded of the government to reverse recent fee hike at Mahmood Cadet College, Bajaur. In a press conference at Bajaur Press Club on Monday, Omar Khattab and other parents of students voiced their concerns and appealed to the government to reconsider the recent fees hike at Mahmood Cadet College.
They emphasized that the current economic situation, marked by inflation, makes it impossible for them to afford such steep fees.
According to the parents, the monthly fee at the college rose from Rs3,000 to Rs7,000, while the admission fee increased from Rs34,000 to Rs60,500.
They noted that other colleges in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, including Razmak, Wana, and Spinkai, have not implemented any changes in their fee structures.
The parents expressed that the increased fees are beyond their means and urged the caretaker K-P CM, Governor Haji Ghulam Ali, Peshawar Corps Commander, IG FC, and other higher authorities to consider the plight of the people in the merged districts.
