Province-wide dengue awareness drive

The Relief, Rehabilitation & Settlement Department is leading an impactful awareness campaign to prevent dengue across educational institutions and public spaces throughout the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) province. The drive is under way on the directives of K-P Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhary, This crucial initiative encompasses a wide range of activities, including sessions in educational institutions, announcements in mosques, meetings and workshops, door-to-door campaigns, billboards, hoardings, digital streamers, radio messages, newspaper ads, and impactful social media campaigns. To date, the campaign has successfully conducted awareness sessions on dengue prevention in 560 schools, 241 colleges, and 9 madrasas, with active participation from students and teachers. Additionally, over the past three weeks, a significant distribution effort has been made, resulting in the dissemination of 114,643 pamphlets, 32,802 banners, and 11,560 brochures across various districts. Relief department has developed a comprehensive plan, which has been shared with all districts involved. The campaign is being led by the additional deputy commissioner relief of reach district, ensuring efficient coordination and execution. In a commendable display of collaboration, the district administration, along with the participation of Rescue 1122, PDMA, and Civil Defense attached bodies of the Relief Department actively contribute to public awareness initiatives. Abdul Basit, Secretary of Relief said, the department of relief aims to create a safer and healthier environment for the province’s residents.
