Under the leadership of Special Assistant to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Chief Minister for Labour Malik Mehr Elahi, a protest rally was held from Milad Chowk to Chowk Yadgaar against the desecration the Holy Quran in Sweden, organized by the Tanzeem-e-Tajiraan Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Peshawar Chamber of Commerce & Industries.
The participants held up protest banners against the desecration of the Holy Quran under the auspices of the judiciary in Sweden under the guise of freedom of expression and raised slogans expressing outrage against anti-Islamic elements. While giving a message in a unique manner and polite manner, standing in a line as far as the eye could see, protesters kissed the Quran and expressed their devotion and love for the Quran. Addressing the protest rally, Special Assistant Malik Mehr Elahi said that the sentiments of billions of Muslims have been hurt by the occurrence of this incident in Sweden. Desecration of books, holy places and leaders of any religion under the guise of freedom of expression is open terrorism.
OIC and UN have to take concrete measures to prevent such incidents. He said that Muslims are advocates of peace and they have respects for all religions. In a developed country like Sweden, desecration of the holy book in the name of the freedom of expression is madness. On this occasion, the business community demanded that the government should convene a meeting at the level of OIC and the United Nations and pass a law defining the blasphemous activities as religious terrorism.
