CM urges resolution of Kurram land conflict

An important meeting was convened to discuss the state of law and order in the province, with a particular focus on the recent emergence of issues in the tribal district of Kurram on Monday. The meeting was presided over by Muhammad Azam Khan, the caretaker chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). During the meeting, the chief minister expressed his concerns regarding the current law and order situation in Kurram district. In response, he directed the relevant administrative and police authorities to strengthen their measures in order to alleviate tensions, prevent clashes, and maintain law and order in the district. The CM emphasised the need for amicable resolutions to all disputes and issues in Kurram district. Furthermore, the chief minister appealed to the citizens to prioritise peace and tranquility over personal interests, urging them to work together for the well-being of the district. He emphasised that peace and stability are crucial for sustainable development and prosperity in the region. The meeting was attended by Inspector General of Police Akhtar Hayat Khan Gandapur, Additional Chief Secretary Zubair Asghar Qureshi, Principal Secretary to CM Amjad Ali Khan, Secretary of the Home and Tribal Affairs department Muhammad Abid Majeed, and other relevant officials. Meanwhile, ANP leader Aimal Wali Khan on Monday expressed concern over the unrest and armed conflict in district Kurram over the land dispute. In a statement, the ANP leader demanded of the provincial government and district administration to establish peace in the area and settle the matter amicably.
