A tale of boundless love has emerged, uniting a 54-year-old American woman and 35-year-old Professor Dr. Abass from Lower Dir, in a narrative that defies borders, limitations, and distances.
Their extraordinary love story led the American woman on a journey that spanned continents, as she ventured from the United States to Pakistan, ultimately arriving in the Malakand region of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), on a quest to embrace her soulmate.
However, her hopes were met with an unforeseen hurdle as local authorities, motivated by security concerns, took her into custody on Wednesday before graciously escorting her back to Malakand.
This saga marks the third instance of an international romance converging in the scenic landscapes of Dir, Pakistan.
Originating from virtual interactions on Facebook, the connection between the American woman and Professor Dr. Abass flourished into a profound and enduring love affair.
Fueled by their bond, the woman navigated the complexities of obtaining a Pakistani visa, driven by a determination to unite with her beloved in a region known for its challenges and security considerations.
Revealing the intricate narrative, DSP Chakdarra Bakhat Jamal told The Express Tribune that the couple had sought accommodation at a local hotel in Malakand, their intended destination. Yet, the pursuit of their shared dreams faced an impediment—a lack of the requisite NOC (No Objection Certificate) necessary for entry into Dir. Their aspiration to be together was stymied by prevailing security concerns that warranted cautious measures to safeguard their well-being.
