The government has taken a decisive stance against individuals engaged in widespread currency smuggling, hoarding, extortion, and other serious crimes in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).
The caretaker provincial cabinet has also decided to re-conduct the MDCAT test through KMU within six weeks.
Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel, the Caretaker Provincial Minister for Information and Public Relations, emphasized the need to address this disruptive segment, which constitutes approximately two percent of society and has a detrimental impact on the nation’s economic and social well-being.
These elements have been linked to various illicit activities, including currency smuggling, hoarding, extortion, and crimes that threaten public peace and order.
In response, the government is committed to a rigorous crackdown on these disruptive elements, with stricter actions on the horizon to protect the lives and property of citizens.
During a press conference following the caretaker cabinet meeting, Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel underscored the government’s dedication to enhancing law and order in the province.
The Apex Committee convened in Peshawar for six hours on Wednesday reviewed the ongoing measures within the province, he observed.
The chief of army staff, DG ISI and federal interior minister also attended the meeting keeping in view the importance of the subject.
Plans include strengthening the capacity of the police, tightening regulations on illegal firearms, `establishing a forensic science laboratory, and addressing issues related to illegal SIM cards and drug control.
The provincial minister highlighted that proactive measures have already led to the apprehension of individuals involved in unlawful activities, with more arrests in progress. These efforts have notably improved the overall situation in the province, reaffirming the caretaker government’s commitment to progress during this transitional period.
Furthermore, Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel addressed the Medical test scam and acknowledged the injustice inflicted on bright students.
